All-on-4 Dental Implants in Summit & Westfield, NJ

Missing teeth can impact every aspect of your life, from confidence and oral health to overall well-being. If you have dentures or are looking for a solution to replace your missing teeth, All-on-4 dental implants offer a more stable, secure solution that strengthens the jawbone and looks and feels like your natural teeth. This treatment uses four small metal posts strategically implanted in the jaw to support a custom-made restoration that helps improve your smile’s functionality and appearance.

At The Dental Studio, we understand the challenges you face with missing teeth and the importance of replacing them before your jawbone becomes too weak and deteriorates. Our experienced NJ dentists, including Dr. Butensky, Dr. Bremmer, and Dr. Hosny, use state-of-the-art technology and a gentle approach to give you a brand-new smile in a way that prioritizes your health, comfort, and safety. With our personalized, comprehensive services, you get the tailored treatment you need with unwavering support from start to finish.

What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants and Who Should Get Them?

All-on-4 dental implants are an innovative treatment concept that uses just four dental implants to support a full arch of replacement teeth. The oral surgical procedure involves strategically placing these implants in the jawbone to provide support for an entire upper or lower set of teeth.

This revolutionary treatment is ideal for people who have lost most or all of their teeth and want a permanent, non-removable solution rather than traditional dentures.

According to the CDC, about one in 10 adults between 65 and 74 has lost all their teeth, making it a common problem that our dedicated team takes seriously. We offer several solutions to replace missing teeth, including All-on-4 dental implants. We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach at The Dental Studio, so this procedure may not be for everyone.

During your initial consultation, we look for the following qualities to ensure this treatment is right for you:

  • Healthy gums
  • Sufficient jawbone density
  • Good oral hygiene habits
  • No uncontrolled medical conditions
  • Non-smoker

If you have untreated gum disease or inadequate jawbone density, we can help you address these concerns before getting your implants. Additionally, All-on-4 only requires four implants, making it a more accessible solution for those who have lost jawbone tissue.

What's the All-on-4 Process Like?

We understand getting a dental procedure can be intimidating, so we work with you from the beginning to help you know what to expect before, during, and after the procedure. While every patient is different, we generally take the following steps to ensure a stress-free experience and optimal results:

Initial Consultation

Before the dental implant procedure, we conduct a thorough examination and take X-rays to ensure dental implants are the best solution to replace missing teeth. Our caring team will go over the process with you and give you all the information you need to make the right decision for your oral health.

Procedure

If you decide to pursue All-on-4 implants, we will begin the procedure by administering general anesthesia to minimize any discomfort. Once you feel comfortable, we begin the procedure by making a small incision in the gums to access the jawbone.

Then, we create openings in the jawbone where your implants will go and use a special dental drill to carefully place the implants directly into your jawbone. When the implants are secure in your jaw, we close the incisions with stitches. Finally, we attach temporary prosthetics so you can walk out of the office with a new, confident smile.

Permanent Prosthetics

The implants need time to fuse to your healing jawbone before we can place your permanent restorations. This can take a few months. Once your jawbone has healed, you’ll return to the office to have your permanent prosthetics attached to your All-on-4 implants.

What Are the Benefits of All-on-4 Dental Implants?

When you’re missing an entire set of top or bottom teeth, everyday functions like chewing, speech, and digestion can feel like a chore. Replacing those missing teeth using the All-on-4 system can help dramatically improve your quality of life by offering a permanent solution with the following benefits:

Immediate Results

One of the most significant cosmetic dental advantages of All-on-4 implants is the speed of transformation. You can receive your implants and a temporary set of teeth in just one appointment. This “teeth in a day” approach means you’ll never have to go without teeth during the healing process, making it easier to speak, smile, and eat comfortably during the integration phase.

Improved Comfort and Function

All-on-4 implants provide the stability that traditional dentures simply cannot match. Because they’re anchored directly to your jawbone, there’s no slipping, sliding, or clicking when you speak or eat. This security allows you to bite and chew with confidence, even tackling foods that would be challenging with conventional dentures.

Bone Preservation

When teeth are lost, the jawbone that once supported them begins to erode through a process called resorption. This bone loss can change facial appearance, creating a sunken look that prematurely ages the face.

Dental implants are the only tooth replacement option that actually stimulates and preserves bone tissue. The titanium posts function like natural tooth roots, transferring bite forces to the jawbone and stimulating the regeneration of bone tissue through a process called osseointegration.

Improved Appearance and Confidence

All-on-4 implants support prosthetic teeth custom-designed to look natural and complement your facial features. The restoration is crafted from high-quality materials that mimic the translucency and color of natural teeth. Unlike removable dentures, there are no visible clasps or attachment mechanisms. With your brand-new smile and increased facial volume, you’ll feel proud to show off your smile and profile in photos and when meeting new people.

Long-Lasting Results

The beauty of All-on-4 is that it provides you with a virtually permanent solution to the problem of missing teeth. In most cases, All-on-4 implants last a lifetime, and the restoration on top of the implants can last up to 15 to 20 years with the proper care. Brushing and flossing daily and getting regular cleanings with our dedicated team at The Dental Studio ensures your implants, gums, and jaw stay strong and healthy.

June

June’s Smile Makeover:
10 Ways That Same-Day
All-on-4 Implants
Will Change Your Life

Dr. Daniel Butensky recalls learning in dental school that losing our teeth is the third biggest trauma in life, coming in just behind losing a close loved one. Dr. Butensky is passionate about helping patients navigate this experience on their own terms, so they feel empowered and improved, not traumatized. With Same-Day All-on-4 Dental Implants, he’s able to give patients new teeth that look great and function as well as, or better than, their natural teeth.

June is a long-time patient of Dr. Butensky’s, as he replaced her top teeth in 2018. She has nothing but glowing things to say about that experience. Now, six years later, it became apparent that she may need to replace her bottom teeth as well, there was no question in her mind that she would return to The Dental Studio to see Dr. Butensky.

June tells us she felt a little bit nervous this time around, but Dr. Butensky calmed her right down. And once again, she had a totally seamless experience. Finding a doctor who cares like he does about this process is rare; Dr. B. will tell you that he would do these procedures for free if he won the lottery. It’s a real passion project for him, which means patients like June feel comfortable and supported when they’re facing the loss of their natural teeth.

Let’s take a look at the ways in which All-on-4 Dental Implants can be absolutely life- changing for you.

1. Chewing Again

One of the most common and life-altering issues patients deal with prior to teeth replacement is the inability to chew well. Some typical obstacles include:

  • Can’t chew on one side due to missing or damaged molars.
  • Need to eat softer foods because molars are missing or damaged on both sides.
  • Unable to bite into foods because front teeth are missing or unstable.
  • Chewing is hindered due to dental pain.

These limitations can occur slowly over time, and you may not realize how far you’ve moved from ideal function. But patients do notice after they have their permanent prosthesis and find that they can eat anything they want with no hindrance.

2. Better Nutrition

Thanks to your ability to chew carrots, bite apples, and enjoy a nice crusty focaccia, you’ll likely find you’re nourishing your body better than you were. As the above obstacles to efficient chewing become worse, we tend to lean more and more towards processed and ultra-processed foods because they aren’t so much work to masticate. All-on-4 Dental Implants support you in changing your body’s nutritional health.

3. Beautiful Smile

You’re allowed to want this! While the function of your bite is critically important to your whole body’s health, having a smile you can feel great about goes a long way towards a healthier life too. Going out into the world and blessing it with your full and confident smile reflects back to you instantly. Patients report seeing differences in their relationships from the most immediate ones like children and spouses all the way out to passing interactions with baristas and flight attendants. We can’t wait for you to see this change in your life!

4. Completely Reinvented Social Life

The social benefits of All-on-4 Dental Implants cannot be understated, and they’re usually much more profound than patients anticipate. Like chewing and biting function, confidence in our smiles may change imperceptibly over many years, and so may the way others treat us based on how much (or how little) confidence we project. Patients like June report entirely renewed social lives as they begin to feel pride in their healthy smiles. Relationships with friends and family improve as they feel more willing to smile and laugh along.

5. Career Improvements

Like in our social lives, it’s hard to tease out whether this improvement is related to the actual appearance of our teeth, or if it comes down to how we feel about them. It may be that others associate a straight, bright, white smile with success; or it may be that we take the room by storm when we feel confident about our smile. It is likely a little of both, but many patients report excelling in their careers after having their smile restored, some even perceiving that they are better at what they do now.

6. New Teeth in One Day

The Dental Studio’s All-on-4 Dental Implant procedure is same-day. You come into the office in the morning and leave in the afternoon with implants and a gorgeous, functional temporary prosthesis. So, you can dive right into enjoying all the benefits of this life-changing procedure the very next day.

7. Keeping Your Jaw Healthy and Strong

One of the little-known [causes and] effects of tooth loss is bone loss. If you lose a tooth and don’t replace it with an implant, then the jawbone that supported the tooth will begin to resorb. The body deems this tissue as “not in use,” and essentially recycles it for better use elsewhere—an amazing process, but not one you want in this case! That bone loss begins to affect the stability of surrounding teeth, and they will also begin to fail.

For patients with traditional dentures, bone resorption occurs across the entire jawbone due to lack of sufficient chewing stimulation, and the dentures must be remade every few years to fit the new shape of an ever-dwindling dental arch. All-on-4 dental implants, however, provide the stimulation needed to prevent such bone loss, keeping the jawbone intact and strong.

8. More Youthful Facial Structure

The preservation of your jawbone’s structure in turn supports your facial structure, avoiding the sunken appearance associated with age, and preserving a more youthful look. As a bonus, your new, healthy-looking chompers also impart youthfulness!

9. Your Last Dental Procedure

Maybe not the absolute last…you still need to see your dentist regularly to maintain your beautiful smile, but the days of cavities, abscesses, and bridges are behind you. You will most likely not be making any more emergency dental appointments, and you don’t ever have to dread another root canal or extraction again.

As our teeth decline towards the point of needing to be replaced, not only do we find ourselves spending quite a bit of time in the dentist’s chair, but we spend a lot of money on procedures as well. Same-Day All-on-4 Dental Implants offer a permanent resolution to those issues.

10. No More Dental Pain

Along with all of those dental issues in the years leading up to teeth replacement, there is likely to be some pain and discomfort. It’s our body’s brilliant way of letting us know something is wrong, and for that we can be grateful. But here’s to a new kind of gratitude for an end to dental problems and accompanying pain.
